DBasia.news – Antonio Conte claims Tottenham have won a big victory after beating Leicester 3-2 in dramatic fashion in the match which took place on Wednesday (19/01) evening local time at the King Power Stadium.
Steven Bergwijn became the hero of Tottenham’s victory after being sent off the bench in the 79th minute. He scored two goals in injury time which made the final result 3-2 for Spurs.
Antonio Conte celebrated his team’s victory with great joy and he ran onto the pitch.
“I’m happy with the team’s performance, I’m happy maybe because I made a good substitution! I’m happy for Steven because he deserved to score these two goals,” the manager said via Spurs TV.
“You have to have faith, believe in the team, in the possibility that in just two minutes you can score again. As I said before, losing this match, even drawing, doesn’t feel right.
“In the end we won this game and we deserved to win this game. Until the end, you have to concentrate, you have to focus and don’t give up, you have to be ready to fight until the end. This should be our philosophy, and if the opposing team deserves to win, we are the first to congratulate. On the other hand, until the end we had to fight.
“It’s a big win, for sure, we’ve beaten a team that finished in front of us last season. Last season they won the FA Cup and Community Shield. That means they are an important team. Their manager has done a great job with Leicester.
“Winning against them was very important for us, to increase your confidence, our belief and furthermore, we know there is still a long way to go, but we have started and we want to finish in the best way.”
