Being a supporter of the Italian national team, Spinazzola admits to being more tense

DBasia.news – Italy defender Leonardo Spinazzola admits he is more tense as a supporter than as a player. Spinazzola hopes Italy will beat England in the final.

Leonardo Spinazzola was again only a spectator at the Euro 2020 final duel between Italy and England. The former Juventus player suffered a serious injury in the match against Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Even though he is no longer on the pitch, Spinazzola still feels the tension. In fact, the level was higher than when he was a player.

“I’m even more emotional now than when I was part of the squad that prepares the match. I feel a greater tension here,” said Spinazzola as reported by Sky Sports.

“I did a two-hour video call to thank those who came out with all their heart. It was absolutely incredible.”

“I’m waiting for them to get back on the bus and they can sing for me again. I know they will be in a great final on Sunday and it makes me impatient,” explained the defender.

England is Dangerous, but Italy is the Champion

Spinazzola did not deny that England has a very dangerous forward material. However, with the experience they have, Italy is still considered stronger.

“I think the odds are 50-50. England have players with extraordinary individual abilities like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden on the bench. They are young but phenomenal. It shows how strong England are.”

“It will be a challenging match. However, we are a great team that can do it,” added the AS Roma defender.
