Being the key to Inter Milan’s victory, Correa admits he’s still dissatisfied

DBasia.news – Joaquin Correa appeared as the star of Inter Milan’s victory when he hosted Udinese in the 2021-2022 Serie A continuation. But the striker is dissatisfied with his performance.

In the match that took place at the Giuseppe Meazza, Sunday (31/10), Inter won with a score of 2-0. Correa scored both Nerazzurri goals in just eight minutes (60′ and 68′).

Even so, Correa’s game can’t be said to be optimal. Before breaking the deadlock, his contribution was minimal in this match.

The player admits it. He admitted that he had difficulty finding gaps in Udinese’s defense.

“It was a complicated game and it was important to get the three points. There is little space, but we never stop playing our football,” Correa told Sky Sport Italia.

“Things didn’t go well for me in the first half, but I never stopped trying. Now we have to continue on this path, because everyone in the team wants the same thing.”

Interestingly, Correa was immediately pulled out shortly after scoring the second goal. This seems to be an indicator that the performance of the former Lazio player has not been satisfactory.

However, this assumption was denied by Inter coach, Simone Inzaghi. Even though he was invisible, Correa was considered to have carried out his duties well since the beginning of the match.

“He (Correa) did what I asked in the first half. He tried to stretch Uidnese’s defense and find space,” said Inzaghi.

“I know him well, he is a great resource for us and I am lucky to have all four strikers available at the moment.”

The match against Udinese was indeed a means for Inzaghi to show off the quality of his front lines.

After pairing Correa and Edin Dzeko from the start, he introduced Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez in the second half.

This condition has made Inzaghi have many options to score goals. His attacking scheme will be more difficult to use tolearn Inter’s potential opponents.
