DBasia.news –  The Belgian national team defeated the Russian national team in the first Euro I group match which took place at Heysel Stadium on Friday (3/22) early morning Western Indonesian Time.

Lowering some young players such as Youri Tielemans and Leander Dendoncker, the Red Devils successfully won with a score of 3-1. Belgium’s 1-0 advantage in the 14th minute through Tielemans only lasted two minutes because Denis Cheryshev managed to equalize after Thibaut Courtois blundered.

Luckily Eden Hazard performed brilliantly and became the hero of Roberto Martinez’s side’s victory through two goals in the 45th and 88th minutes.

Responding to his team’s first victory, the Chelsea winger was very happy and satisfied because he could help his country achieve an important victory to secure a place at the upcoming Euro 2020.

“I enjoyed this victory, especially I also scored two goals. Everything went well. After the last match, which was a 5-2 defeat of Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League, of course, Belgium must be able to answer all the criticisms that were obtained,” said Hazard as reported by Goal.

“Yes, indeed we did not perform well throughout the match, but I and my teammates created a lot of goal opportunities and finally got the job done well,” added the 28-year-old.

Hazard’s two goals in this match seemed to show that he was one of the best players in the 2018/19 season, the total of players born in Le Louviere, Belgium that had collected 19 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.

After this match, Belgium will immediately prepare for the next match, which is against Cyprus in the second Euro 2020 qualifying match, Monday (25/3) early morning Western Indonesian Time.
