Benjamin Pavard’s indication of playing in Serie A

By db-admin

DBasia.news – The French national team squad at the 2022 World Cup has three players who will play in Serie A, namely the AC Milan duo, Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud, and Adrien Rabiot (Juventus) and the rest is dominated by players who played in Spain, England and Germany.

France are in group D with Australia, Tunisia and Denmark and is the defending champion. The 2022 World Cup is also unique as it takes place in the midst of the 2022-2023 season in Europe, moreover it is also being held ahead of the winter transfer market (January 2023).

There is no doubt that the 2022 World Cup could be a moment when talent scouts monitor players to become targets of clubs, in the national team squad there are also several players who can become ‘agents’.

That was done by Giroud to Bayern Munich player, Benjamin Pavard. The 26-year-old player was one of the players who stood out when France won the 2018 World Cup until he was brought in by Bayern Munich from Stuttgart.

Pavard is able to play as a full-back as well as a centre-back with a record of two goals in 46 caps with France. Hearing good stories about Italian football from Giroud, Pavard also indicated that he would play in Serie A and look for new challenges.

“I have been playing in Germany for seven years, I have many friends in Stuttgart and I have won everything with Bayern. I play to win and I am open to considering a new project as a centre-back,” Pavard told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Olivier always told me that Italy is a country that lives 100% for football. He has told me about the magic of the derby and the big celebrations for Milan’s title win.”

“I want to play with him because he is a good friend of mine. It’s never easy to win, but Serie A is interesting, not only for defenders like me. It’s very open as my friends Giroud, Theo Hernandez and Adrien Rabiot to me.”

Pavard has been at Bayern since 2019 and has made 140 appearances. His contract expires in 2024. Milan had not shown any interest in Pavard, who had been a target of Manchester United in the past.
