Bitter Memories of Frank Lampard and Chelsea at Old Trafford

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Chelsea manager Frank Lampard apparently still can’t forget the devastating defeat of his team when they travel to Manchester United in the Premier League opening match last season. The match was indeed his official debut as manager of the Blues.

Unfortunately Lampard’s debut to handle the club that raised him turned into a nightmare. Chelsea slaughtered four goals without reply.

The defeat made Lampard’s start as Chelsea manager very tough. No wonder many parties have doubted their abilities.

But Lampard felt his team was playing well at that time. He believes Chelsea don’t deserve to lose by a landslide score.

“I naturally question the match because it is very easy for an expert to analyze and I remember it well. It is easy to make a real dramatic reaction because 4-0 means one team is much better than another,” Lampard said on the club’s official website.

“I saw a lot of things in the game against Manchester United where we were the better team and I said that to the players straight after.”

Even so, Lampard also admitted that the defeat of Manchester United provided considerable benefits. He came to know the various shortcomings of his care team that had to be addressed.

The results were picked by Chelsea at the end of the season. The team from London was able to end the competition in fourth place and qualify for the Champions League.

“It was a game that showed very good things about us and things we need to improve. I will never forget the lessons that were given to us as a team,” he added.

Despite reaping many benefits, Lampard certainly did not want the bad experience to repeat itself on Saturday (24/10) tonight. With the addition of a number of new stars, Chelsea’s chance to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford is wide open.
