DBasia.news –  Brazilian clubs joined to fight the corona virus. They offered their stadium and training grounds to be used as an impromptu hospital for COVID-19 patients.

Bahia, Athletico Paranaense, and Sao Paulo were among the clubs who made the offer. “We place training centers in the government’s disposition to receive COVID-19 patients, as long as they need them,” a statement from the Bahia club as quoted by Reuters.

The club said it had three pavilions containing 28 rooms in the Fazendao training center and authorities could send patients there immediately.

“We will move patients who do not need complex treatment to Fazendao,” said governor of Bahia state, Rui Costa.

Curitiba’s home club, Athletico, offered their stadiums and training grounds that had been used for the 2014 World Cup.

While Sao Paulo also offered their facilities, including the Morumbi Stadium which held the opening match of the Copa America last year.

Previously in England, Chelsea had also offered their hotel facilities to be used by the health workers.
