DBasia.news – Manchester United are reportedly preparing a new contract for Bruno Fernandes. This situation is somewhat special as the Portuguese player’s contract with the Red Devils is still lengthy.
Mirror reports that in the new contract, Fernandes will receive a salary increase that is twice the current contract.
Fernandes was signed by Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon for 47 million pounds in January. The 26-year-old player has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with a one-year extension option. Under the contract, Fernandes will receive a payment of 100,000 pounds per week.
Even though his contract has not been running for one year or 11 months to be precise, MU is said to be offering Fernandes a new contract. This time Fernendes will receive a salary of 200,000 pounds per week or double what he currently receives.
Fernandes’ payment is currently below United’s highest earning players. David De Gea who receives 350,000 per week, or Paul Pogba 300,000 per week.
By comparison, Fernandes’ current fee is equivalent to Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson, who rarely steps on the pitch.
During his 11 months with MU, Fernandes immediately made changes. He has scored 22 goals and provided 14 assists in 37 games. This season, Fernandes has scored seven goals and three assists in nine Premier League games as well as three goals, one assist in the Champions League.
No wonder he is currently on the radar of big European clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona.
