Bruno Fernandes’ wishes for Fabio Vieira

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Arsenal is one of the clubs active in the transfer market this time. This is evidenced by the number of players they recruit.

So far, Arsenal have completed the transfers of Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, and just formalize the transfer of Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal brought Jesus from Manchester City for 45 million pounds plus bonuses, he will immediately fill the post left by Alexandre Lacazette on the front lines.

One name that is quite interesting from the transfer is Fabio Vieira. The Portuguese attacking midfielder, who can also play as a winger, was brought in from Porto for £34 million (40 million euros). That’s a pretty big number.

However, considering he is only 22 years old and the potential for development, the price tag is quite realistic. Vieira can lighten Martin Odegaard’s job of managing Arsenal’s attack and is in line with the club’s vision of relying on young players.

Even his compatriot, Bruno Fernandes, who defended rivals Manchester United wished the best for Vieira. He believes Vieira can shine in the Premier League. Fernandes already knows the quality possessed by Vieira.

“I welcome all Portuguese players who go abroad, I hope he (Vieira) can shine to the fullest, except against me,” Fernandes said as quoted by Standard Sports.

“Fabio has a lot of quality and has shown that, both at FC Porto at the Under-21s, he has good numbers and performances.

“I wish him success like all the Portuguese out there. We have to start appreciating what’s ours and I hope Fabio can do as well as he can, even if he wants to stay up front.”

Last season Vieira provided 16 assists and scored seven goals for Sergio Conceicao’s Porto. Vieira also follows the departure of former Porto team-mate Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool in January 2021 and plays in the Premier League.
