Buffon Pessimists to Be PSG’s Number One Goalkeeper
By news-admin
DBasia.news – The new goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain Gianluigi Buffon, pessimists that he will be the main goalkeeper of Les Parisiens. However, Buffon admits that he can contribute from outside the field.
Gianluigi Buffon made a surprising decision leaving Juventus. In his farewell party, the goalkeeper admitted the need for a new challenge.
Not too long after that, Buffon signed the contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Les Parisiens considered Buffon has numerous experiences that will be useful in achieving the Champions League trophy.
But, during the two International Champions Cup matches, Buffon’s performances were far from perfect. The poor record raised a question about Buffon’s capability.
“I haven’t spoken to anybody, but it’s important for me to say one thing: in my 24-year career, nobody has ever told me ‘you will be the main goalkeeper’,” said Buffon reported by Soccerway.
“I believe that one has to train and put himself in the best condition to play when called,” said the 2006 World Cup winner.
“And once again I am here to do my best when I am called by the coach, but also to help everybody improve. So I have two functions,” said Gigi.
Gianluigi Buffon is one of the best goalkeepers throughout Italy’s football history. The 40-year-old goalkeeper scored 295 clean sheets in 517 matches.
