Captain Arm Band Could Be Mohamed Salah’s Reason To Leave Liverpool
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Bad rumors hit Liverpool again. The Reds are in danger of being left by Mohamed Salah because of the captaincy polemic.
The issue was exhaled by the legend of the Egyptian national team, Mohamed Aboutrika. He said he was angry because he was not appointed as the replacement captain for Jordan Henderson.
That moment occurred when Liverpool visited Midtjylland headquarters in the last match of the 2020-2021 Champions League group phase, December 9th. In this match, Jurgen Klopp fielded many young players because it was confirmed to qualify for the next phase.
Salah is one of the senior players who are still starting to play. But Klopp instead chose Trent Alexander-Arnold to carry the captain’s armband.
“I called Salah about the situation at Liverpool and he was upset, but it will never affect his performance on the pitch,” Aboutrika told beIN Sports.
“I know Salah is unhappy at Liverpool, he told me the reason, but it’s a secret and I can’t talk about it in public. One of the reasons that makes Salah angry is because he was not the captain against Midtjylland.”
By age, Salah is six years older than Alexander-Arnold. Naturally, he was disappointed with Klopp’s decision.
This disappointment was not actually covered by Salah. He expressed the problem during an interview with the US, some time after.
“To be honest, I am very disappointed. I hope to be captain, but it is the coach’s decision and I accept it,” said Salah.
Rumors of Salah’s move from Liverpool are not the first to blow. The same thing has also been expressed by the former assistant coach of the Egyptian national team, Hany Ramzy.
Ramzy admitted that Salah had thought about leaving for Real Madrid in March 2018. This was later denied by the player’s agent.
Klopp of course must immediately confirm this rumor to Salah. It is not impossible that this problem will interfere with Liverpool’s efforts to defend the Premier League trophy.
