Carlo Ancelotti mentions Barcelona’s football philosophy

DBasia.news – El Clasico will start in week nine of LaLiga which will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu, the headquarters of Real Madrid, against Barcelona. And it will be the 185th edition of El Clasico.

The meeting between the two teams was tight with a record of 76 wins for Los Blancos, 73 wins for the Blaugrana, and 35 other matches ended in a draw. In the last meeting between the two clubs, Barcelona crushed Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The performance of the two teams was also different at this time where Barcelona havee not consistently played in all competitions, while Madrid, who are defending champions in LaLiga and the Champions League, played consistently with the experience they possess.

The duel between Barcelona and Real Madrid also interpret tactics like two different poles. Barcelona are already famous for their offensive football philosophy with the development of total Dutch football that has been instilled since La Masia.

Meanwhile, Madrid are more adaptive in playing: they are able to defend and rely on counter-attacks or control the game to dominate the opponent. Considering the difference in playing style, Carlo Ancelotti has opened up on the matter.

The Italian Madrid coach respects Barcelona’s football philosophy, but thinks it should not be applied too rigidly due to the different compositions of players in the squad. No doubt Ancelotti prefers to be flexible when it comes to tactics and style of play.

“Barca’s history is clear for everyone to see, they have a style of play that their fans and their club like. I have respect for that. It is the philosophy of football that has brought them success and they continue to enjoy success,” said Ancelotti on Madrid’s official website.

“Other clubs have their own style of play. I believe that having a single style of play is not the best idea because the players change sometimes. The important thing is that the team has players who are comfortable with the style of play adopted.”

Ancelotti also confirmed his team’s readiness to play a special El Clasico. He hopes Madrid can play collectively both in defense and attack.

“We are facing a team that is performing to a high standard and if we want to win it we have to attack and defend well. You have to look at the characteristics of both teams.”

“It’s true that they usually start well and strong in the first half, while we produce the best in the second half. I’m not sure if it will affect the game, but it is something we are considering.”
