Carlo Ancelotti reveals Bale’s future at Real Madrid
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Gareth Bale’s career journey with Real Madrid in the last few seasons has gone downhill, especially when compared to his first season since joining Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur.
Bale was signed for €101 million in 2013 from Tottenham and is in Madrid’s generation of glory, winning four Champions League titles, two LaLiga titles and four Welsh Players of the Year in the four years since joining Madrid.
But now the situation is no longer the same for the 32-year-old player. This season Carlo Ancelotti has only played him four times (scoring one goal) with a total of 267 minutes of appearances.
Last season Bale was even loaned to Tottenham in hopes of improving his form, but that didn’t happen either. A series of injuries, the spotlight on his life outside of football and poor fitness are the reason for Bale’s decrease in performance.
Carlo Ancelotti has spoken about Bale’s future, whose contract expires at the end of this season. Recognized by the coach from Italy, Bale deserves to retire at Madrid.
“Bale has a history of injuries, then his contract will expire. Bale never disrespects his team mates, trains well and he is a professional,” said Ancelotti regarding Bale at Marca.
“He wanted to end his career here and deserved to do so. He helped win the Champions League and did important things for Real Madrid. I think retiring here in a good way will be good for his career.”
Ancelotti opened up Bale’s chance of retiring at Madrid, it’s just a matter of how the player or the club resolves his contractual problems. Otherwise Bale can leave free at the end of the season (free agent) and try to find his best form to feature in the 2022 World Cup with Wales.
