Carlo Ancelotti wants to Bring Everton to End Minor Trend Against Liverpool
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Carlo Ancelotti had looked at the Merseyside Derby which took place in the FA Cup in January 2020. Ancelotti, the new Everton manager, wanted to give victory over Liverpool.
Ancelotti is not talking nonsense. This season, the Italian manager makes Napoli the only team that has never lost against Liverpool when clashing in the Champions League. Napoli won 2-0 at San Paolo and drew 1-1 against Liverpool at Anfield in the Group E match.
The Merseyside derby will be presented at Anfield on Sunday (05/01) at 23.01 in the FA Cup third round. Everton fans can not wait to see Ancelotti put an end to his team’s bad record against Liverpool.
In the first meeting, the two teams ended in a 2-5 defeat to Everton. The Toffees haven’t won against Liverpool in all competitions since 2010. No doubt Ancelotti understands how much the desire of fans to see Everton beat Liverpool.
“Evertonians know about my records against Liverpool, they will be happy with it. (Napoli) beat Liverpool this season, the rivalry is great here and is a great motivation for us,” Ancelotti said, quoted by Goal.
“That feels good. Honestly, I have a very good relationship with Jurgen Klopp. It’s always fun, playing against them.”
“Of course, I have to beat them, but they are not used to losing. It was a good day for me. I know how much the Evertonians want to beat Liverpool.”
“We don’t have to wait long, because we will play against them on January 5, so we will soon see them. This is not an impossible mission, nothing is impossible in football,” believes Ancelotti.
The former AC Milan, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea coach also explained the reasons for choosing Everton. Ancelotti disagrees with the assumption he only coaches the top European clubs.
“I have coached the top teams, it is true. When I was at PSG, the project there was very good and interesting for me, the ambitions of the club and I think here is the same,” added Ancelotti.
“It’s not true that I only deal with top teams. I coached Parma at the start, which wasn’t the top team. I like teams that have ambitions and clear ideas about how to succeed. Here, I go to the training center and the training center is very good,” he explained.
