DBasia.news – Cesar Azpilicueta, captain and Chelsea defender, understand if fans cast protests to the club and Maurizio Sarri. According to him, Chelsea does have to perform better.
Chelsea struggled to gain victory against Cardiff City. Eden Hazard and his mates were left behind by one goal until the 84th minute. Luckily, Cesar Azpilicueta scored the equalizing goal. Next, Ruben Loftus-Cheek appeared as a hero after gaining a goal during injury time.
In the match, Chelsea supporters gave criticism to his favorite team. In fact, a few of them have asked Maurizio Sarri to leave.
“We have to give them something in the field to enjoy. With our recent appearance, it is normal if they are not happy,” Azpilicueta said as quoted by the Metro.
“It’s up to us to get up. We always get their support in bad times and when everything goes well, we will all enjoy together,” he added.
“We had a great opportunity starting Wednesday against Brighton at Stamford Bridge to show great games and create a great atmosphere,” Azpilicueta said.
“I think in the last few matches, we haven’t shown the level we have. We have a lot of opportunities, but they are easy to concede. I think it must be improved.
Azpilicueta urged Chelsea players to provide the best game. Moreover, now the 2018-2019 season will end soon.
“Yesterday was the second time we did it in the Premier League. We got three points, but it had to be difficult and we knew we could perform better,” commented Azpilicueta.
An additional three points has made Chelsea occupy the sixth position in the Premier League standings with 60 points. Olivier Giroud and his mates are one point away from Tottenham Hotspur who occupy the deadline of the Champions League zone.
