Chelsea Accuses FIFA of Treating Man City Differently

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Chelsea has accused FIFA of treating them differently in handling alleged violations of the transfer regulations compared to when similar mistakes were made by Manchester City.

That was the first point of the Premier League club’s official statement following the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which accepted their lawsuit so that the sentence for recruiting new players and the amount of fines from FIFA was officially cut.

“FIFA’s approach to this case has been unsatisfactory, at least because FIFA has chosen to treat Chelsea differently from Manchester City for reasons that make no sense to Chelsea,” the statement on the official Chelsea website said.

Furthermore the west London club stated that FIFA has accused them of violating Article 19 of FIFA Regulations against 27 players, starting from 2009. Of the 27 players, 16 players were registered by Chelsea in a manner similar to that of other English League clubs.

Next, Chelsea explained their position to the remaining 11 players. Six players qualified except for one person who was regulated by FIFA regulations.

Chelsea insisted that, as the CAS enforced in the case of Real Madrid, FIFA regulations did not cover the concept of “being deemed to have registered” and thus FIFA was not open in “assuming” registration had been carried out before it was real.
