Chelsea Aim Atletico Goalkeeper to Replace Courtois
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea are preparing to lose Thibaut Courtois who is now closer to Real Madrid. Mundo Deportive reported The Blues will get Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak.
Thibaut Courtois did all he can to force Chelsea into letting him go to Real Madrid. Moreover, the Belgium national team didn’t join the team training on Monday (6/8). In fact, his compatriot, Eden Hazard, has come back amid the rumor of leaving Stamford Bridge.
But now, Chelsea change their mind. Realizing that it would be hard to preserve Courtois, The Blues are preparing some names to be the main goalkeeper in the 2018-2019 season.
First, Chelsea will try to approach Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford. The Blues loved the player performance in the 2018 World Cup with England national team.
However, the £58M price tag from Everton made Chelsea think twice. Chelsea management considered the price is too high for Pickford.
The second plan is by buying the release clause of Jan Oblak in Atletico Madrid. The goalkeeper has 89 million euro release clause in his contract. But, Chelsea have to be quick since the Premier League will start this week.
If happens, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid relationship regarding transfer player will be closer. Previously, Chelsea got Courtois from Los Rojiblancos in the 2013-2014 season.
Meanwhile, Jan Oblak will break the record of the world’s most expensive goalkeeper previously owned by Alisson Beker when he left AS Roma to join Liverpool in the 2018 summer transfer market. At that time, The Reds gave 75 million euro.
