DBasia.news – Chelsea have suffered the worst away defeat in the Premier League for 28 years. They lost 6-0 to Manchester City in Week 26 of the Premier League on Sunday (10/2) night Western Indonesian Time.
Six Kepa Arrizabalaga goalscorers are: Sergio Aguero (hat trick), Raheem Sterling (two goals), and Ilkay Gundogan. In total, Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri directions has conceded 12 goals in the last three away matches in the Premier League.
Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, stepped in to face fans who were upset and angry after the defeat. The two Premier League title winners really understand the frustration of fans and apologize to them.
“This is one of the worst nights of my career. It’s hard to explain what happened. In the first five-six minutes it went well and that just wasn’t enough. It’s very disappointing and frustrating,” Azpilicueta said, quoted from Goal.
“We conceded a lot of goals and we couldn’t accept it. When you lost 0-6 we had to accept that we didn’t play well and made mistakes. We knew it would be difficult.”
“When we won at Stamford Bridge (2-0 last December), it happened because we played well and united. Today is not the case. All I can do is apologize to fans because this is intolerable,” added the Spanish defender.
Chelsea can’t think too long about the defeat. Because, they will play in the Europa League last 32 first leg against Malmo (15/2), before playing against Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round (19/2).
