Chelsea vs Burnley

DBasia.news –  One point won by Chelsea when held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley in the 35th week of the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, Tuesday (23/4) WIB. The Blues temporarily climbed to fourth place aka the Champions League zone.

The position of Chelsea is still prone to overtake rival teams like Arsenal (66 points) and Manchester United (64 points). The draw was very unfortunate as Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Man United all lost in the 35th week of the Premier League.

The Blues even had to be left behind in the eighth minute through a goal scored by Jeff Hendrick. The Republic of Ireland player released a volley when he grabbed a wild ball from a Chelsea player from a corner in the eighth minute. 0-1 the hosts were left behind.

Four minutes later, N’Golo Kante equalized the position when converting opportunities from Eden Hazard to a goal. Hazard passes the opponent before giving an assist to Kante, who scored his fifth goal of the season. The 1-1 position is equally strong.

Two minutes from Kante’s goal, Gonzalo Higuain put Chelsea ahead when he received a pass from Cesar Azpilicueta. The position turned 2-1 ahead for Chelsea and everything happened quickly at the beginning of this first round.

Not until 30 minutes the match took place, Stamford Bridge had seen four goals as on 24 minutes Ashley Barnes equalized Burnley. Barnes scored from a corner from the ball given by two team mates, Ben Mee and Chris Wood. Position becomes 2-2.

After four goals, the game became anti-climax at Stamford Bridge. The position did not change until halftime and Callum Hudson-Odoi was forced to be replaced with Pedro in the 41st minute due to injury.

In the second half of the match that went one way – not much different from the first round. Sean Dyche immediately applied the bus parking strategy to keep the position 2-2 and at least won one point in this match.

Entering the last 10 minutes, Chelsea are still trying to score a third goal and Sarri has included Mateo Kovacic and Olivier Giroud, replacing Kante and Higuain. However, Burnley played diligently to maintain that position.

In the end, up to six extra minutes of time ended in the second half no more goals were created. Chelsea failed to move up to third place because of that draw and vice versa for Burnley, they got a valuable point that ensured Burnley were safe from the relegation zone – Burnley now have 40 points.
