Chelsea finally officially appoint Graham Potter as Thomas Tuchel’s successor

DBasia.news – It didn’t take long for Chelsea to recruit a new coach after dismissing Thomas Tuchel. The man i question,  Graham Potter who for the last three years has coached Brighton & Hove Albion.

Potter (47 years old) is on a five-year contract by Chelsea. The Blues saw him as a prime candidate after sacking Tuchel, having seen his fine form at Brighton in an entertaining and efficient form.

“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to welcome Graham Potter as our new head coach, joining us on a five-year contract to bring progressive football and his innovative coaching to the club,” said a statement on Chelsea’s website.

“Potter is one of the most exciting coaches in the game, starting his journey in Sweden before bringing his talent to the English game over the last four seasons.”

“The 47-year-old man was educated up to undergraduate level in disciplines outside of sport and has combined this experience to form a collaborative, forward-thinking approach while developing attacking and winning football.”

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly welcomed Potter’s arrival and said the former Swansea City coach’s vision suited Chelsea’s needs.

“We are thrilled to bring Graham to Chelsea. He is a proven coach and innovator in the Premier League who fits our vision for the club,” said Boehly about Potter.

“Not only is he incredibly talented on the pitch, he has skills and abilities that go beyond the pitch that will make Chelsea a more successful club.”

“He had a huge impact at his previous club and we look forward to his positive impact at Chelsea. We look forward to supporting him, his coaching team and his squad in realizing their full potential in the months and years to come.”

Meanwhile Potter was looking forward to meeting his new team and trying to bring his playing ideas to the club. Potter did not forget to thank Brighton.
