Chelsea has not given up on chasing after Manchester City
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City is now the strongest candidate to win the Premier League 2021-2022. But Chelsea, who are 13 points behind, have not given up.
The 0-1 defeat to Manchester City in the last match did make Chelsea thrown out of the title race. The second position occupied by the Blues has even been overthrown by Liverpool.
This condition has made a number of parties predict that only Manchester City and Liverpool will fight for the title. Meanwhile, Chelsea will be more focused on defending the Champions League title and finishing in the top four.
However, this assumption was flatly rejected by Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel. He emphasized that his team had not yet given up.
“We have to admit that City are in a very strong position with the points they have and accumulated in the last 12 games with a 100% record. They got what they have at the moment,” Tuchel said ahead of the match against Brighton.
“But we will never give up until the race is over. I said a few weeks before we were in a good place and maybe not now, but we are still in the race.”
Chelsea’s opportunity to win the title is still open. But the struggle of Jorginho and his team is very hard.
Chelsea must wipe out all remaining matches with a win. Moreover, they should expect Manchester City to slip and start dropping points.
“We have to take care of ourselves at the moment, we can’t do anything more and that’s it for now,” he added.
“We must not get lost in it, it cannot lower our ambitions because we are committed to our goals and our behaviour.”
“If I say yes (already given up) then maybe I will doubt my ability to coach Chelsea,” he concluded.
