Chelsea Made Good Use of Man United’s Draw Results against Southampton

DBasia.news – Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard said he was thrilled that his team could take advantage of the minor results achieved by Manchester United. Lampard felt, the players understood what to do when the rivals did not win.

Chelsea defeated Norwich City 1-0 in the 36th Premier League match 2019-2020, at Stamford Bridge, Wednesday (7/15). Chelsea’s goal was scored by Olivier Giroud at the end of the first half.

These results provided a little breath of relief for Chelsea who competed in the Champions League zone. The Blues has a four-point gap from Leicester City and Manchester United, who sit in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

That way, Chelsea has managed to take advantage of the poor results achieved by Manchester United. Hosting Southampton, the victory of the Red Devils vanished in the final minutes.

“I actually did not talk to the players about other matches because I thought I had called the game around us. We all saw the match, but I don’t think I should say that to them today,” Lampard said after the match as reported by Goal.

“We know there are teams around that have moments like that, you have to use them. We failed to do so at some other time this season.”

“One thing I want to make sure of is that we did our main work today. I felt that tonight was about us. We are against a team that had just been relegated.”

“With all due respect, we have finished working at home. We received three points and we did that,” explained Lampard.

Chelsea’s last two games in the Premier League were fairly heavy. Christian Pulisic and colleagues will face Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
