Chelsea must start forgetting the Premier League trophy

DBasia.news – Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, assesses his team’s chances of winning the Premier League this season are closed. In fact, he said the Blues players did not need to dream of being able to do miracles and win titles.

Chelsea had went at the start of the season. However, the appearance of Romelu Lukaku and his team has been inconsistent lately. Now, Chelsea are in third place in the standings.

Despite having one game remaining, Chelsea are already 16 points behind leaders, Manchester City. Therefore, Tuchel thinks, his players need to focus on winning Champions League tickets rather than fantasizing regarding being winners.

“I feel 16 points behind the leaders is too far. We actually want to be in a better place than today. However, we also need to appear more realistic,” explained Tuchel on Chelsea’s official website.

“We must not dream of winning the Premier League. Because we must realize that the position in the top four is not safe. So, we must focus on securing this position.”

Tuchel wants Chelsea to take lessons from this season which has not gone as expected in the Premier League. That way, the Blues can improve themselves.

“At the end of the season, we can look back and think about the reasons why the performance is like this. Apart from that, we are also trying to do a better job,” stated the coach.

“We can indeed try to improve our performances for the rest of the season. However, we have to be focused and realistic about only being in the hunt for the top four.”

Next, Chelsea will visit Crystal Palace headquarters in the 2021-2022 Premier League continued match, at Selhurst Park Stadium, Saturday (19/2). The Blues have always won against Palace in the last eight matches.
