Chelsea Players Annoyed by International Break
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel found the reason why his team could lose 1-4 to Brentford in the 2021-2022 Premier League match, at Stamford Bridge Stadium, Saturday (2/4). According to him, the Blues players were disturbed by the international break.
Initially, Chelsea smiled after Antonio Rudiger scored in the 48th minute. However, Brentford came back and picked up four goals through Vitaly Janelt (50′, 60′), Christian Eriksen (54′) and Yoane Wissa (87′).
Thomas Tuchel feels, his players have not found the right rhythm after the international break. The Chelsea players also looked exhausted.
“This is a difficult start, especially for the first time after the international break. We need time to find a rhythm and fully control the game,” Tuchel told Chelsea’s official website.
“We lacked energy and didn’t do the things that normally make us strong. We looked tired physically and mentally,” added the former Paris Saint-Germain coach.
“It’s a big challenge after the international break. However, you have to keep getting the right results as the underdog and playing at home. We didn’t play well enough today.”
Tuchel admits Brentford’s performance was more well organised. Moreover, the visitors are good at taking advantage of opportunities.
“I realize I have not too high expectations for this match. It’s a challenge to come out after the international break and be the favorite to win.”
“We took the lead and controlled the game. However, I think they were better so I don’t see it working.” Tuchel said.
The defeat did not make Chelsea move from third position. The Blues picked up 59 points from 29 matches.
