By db-admin

DBasia.news – Chelsea are reportedly reaching an agreement to sign Brighton Hove and Albion defender Lewis Dunk. Reportedly, the agreement price reached 40 million pounds.

As reported by The Sun, quoted by Sportskeeda, Monday (17/8), coach Frank Lampard is very interested in bringing the Brighton captain to Stamford Bridge this summer 2020. Moreover, The Blues are reportedly looking to strengthen their defense after conceding 54 goals last season.

However, Chelsea’s journey will not be easy considering their city rival Tottenham Hotspur are also lured into securing the 28-year-old player. Totenham need a replacement figure for Jan Vertonghen who officially joined Benfica.

However, Chelsea’s chance is predicted to be bigger than the Lilywhites. The reason is, Dunk is a fan of the West London team. He even publicly admits that he really idolizes the legend of the Roman Emperor, John Terry.

Dunk has been a part of Brighton since he was 10 years old. In 2018, he became the fourth player from the club to win minutes played for England’s senior national team.

Still from the same source, apart from chasing Dunk’s signature, Lampard is also targeting his team to bring in Declan Rice with the intention that the two players could potentially form a partnership at the heart of Chelsea’s defense.

On the other hand, Chelsea are also reportedly in discussions with Bayern Leverkusen and Leicester City, with a view to get the Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell.
