Chelsea Started Their Pre-season With a Win

DBasia.news – Chelsea started their pre-season well. Thomas Tuchel’s squad managed to win after against an American club from Mexico in Las Vegas with a score of 2-1 on Sunday (17/6/2022).

The three goals that were created in this match were all recorded in the name of Chelsea players. One of them was an own goal, namely by Reece James.

Timo Werner put Chelsea ahead in the 55th minute, but Club America could reply thanks to James’ own goal in the 60th minute. Thomas Tuchel’s side’s victory was confirmed by Mason Mount’s goal in the 83rd minute.

Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly did not appear in this match. The two new Chelsea recruits were not included in the squad for the first match of pre-season against Club America.

Chelsea started the match with Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal. The back row in a 3-4-2-1 formation is filled by Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Chilwell occupy the two wing-back positions, while Conor Gallagher and Ross Barkley are trusted to fill the middle row.

Kai Havertz was set up front, supported by Hakim Ziyech and Kenedy.

Mount’s late goal gave Chelsea a dramatic win over Club America in the first leg of their tour of the United States.

Next, July 21, Chelsea will play Charlotte FC (United States). The match will be played at the Bank of America Stadium, North Carolina.

Three days later, they will go head to head with rivals Arsenal in Orlando, Florida.
