DBasia.news – Two goals from Alvaro Morata in the third round of FA Cup against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge, Saturday (5/1) night brought Chelsea to the fourth round. Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas also played in that match and applauded by Stamford Bridge fans.

The applause wasn’t due to the good performance of the 31-year-old player. But, it’s an appreciation to the match that possibly the last for Fabregas with the club that he has been supporting since 2014.

“Cesc Fabregas will be new Monaco player. Done deal and three-years contract,” said transfer market expert @FabrizioRomano.

Fabregas played as the starter by Maurizio Sarri and had one chance to end his career with a goal. Unfortunately, Nottingham goalkeeper Luke Steele caught it.

When he was substituted at 85′ by N’Golo Kante, Fabregas couldn’t hold his tears seeing the whole Stamford Bridge gave him the standing ovation. The hugging moment with Sarri is also touching.

His departure to AS Monaco is just about the time. But, Fabregas’ comment after the match ended was a bit strange.

“The occasion got the better of me. I didn’t expect all of this to happen today. I can’t say anything out of respect for Chelsea but everyone knows the situation,” Fabregas said cited by Goal.

From his statement, it’s speculated that Chelsea are kicking him when he still wants to stay at Stamford Bridge. Perhaps Monaco send the offer that couldn’t be refused by The Blues.

Whatever it is, Fabregas remains silence about his exit. Fabregas leaves as the idol of Chelsea fans by his two Premier League title achievements, one FA Cup, and League Cup. He also played in 198 caps with 22 goals and 57 assists.

His career is getting more complete because he is the living proof of Spain national team’s success in winning the 2008 and 2012 Europe Cup and the 2010 World Cup, the golden moment of La Furia Roja.

“Time flies. It feels like last week I started playing professionally, and now it has been over 15 years. For the young players, a little advice: enjoy every single second,” Fabregas added.

“You have to be ready every three days, live with criticism, with everyone saying how good you are, with up and downs, but time really does fly,” he said.
