Chelsea will Loan Ethan Ampadu

DBasia.news –  New Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has confirmed that the Blues are planning to lend Ethan Ampadu for the 2019/20 season.

Ampadu did not join the squad on Chelsea’s pre-season tour in Japan amid speculation of the 18-year-old player’s fate at Stamford Bridge.

Ampadu, who was linked to Aston Villa, joined Chelsea from Exeter City in 2017. He appeared 12 times in the main team and signed a new five-year contract in September.

“Ethan is not here because we see the possibility that he will be loaned for this season,” said Lampard.

“I tried to bring Ethan on loan at Derby last year, so I was a big fan of him, but with the minutes he played last year, I had to think of the bigger picture as well as Ethan and Chelsea’s interest.”

“The idea that he can play a lot of matches somewhere is good for him and we haven’t brought him here.”
