DBasia.news – A 2-0 victory was won by Chelsea when they played the London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur in Week 18 of the Premier League. Willian performed great in the match.
Tottenham went down with a 4-2-3-1 tactic. Jose Mourinho relied on Harry Kane as the spearhead that was supported by the movements of Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, and Son Heung-min. In contrast to the opposing camp, Frank Lampard revealed a different tactic.
Lampard played 3-4-2-1 at Chelsea. Tammy Abraham became the lone striker supported by Willian and Mason Mount. The three Chelsea central defenders were: Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori.
Chelsea, despite playing at Tottenham’s headquarters, played better at controlling the game, dominating the game, and creating chances. Precisely Tottenham as the hosts did not have much control of the ball.
In the 12th minute Chelsea were ahead through Willian’s goal. The Brazilian received the ball from Mateo Kovacic after making a short corner, Willian dribbled the ball and fired a shot from the right side of the Spurs defense without being denied by Paulo Gazzaniga. Chelsea winning by 1-0.
Spurs had two chances from Kane and Son. But the chances did not endangered Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga. In fact, Chelsea returned to score goals before halftime.
Gazzaniga violated Marcos Alonso who penetrated the restricted area. After the referee saw VAR (Video Assistant Referee), the referee gave a penalty and Willian who became the executor completed his job well. 2-0 away for the visitors.
In the second half Mourinho played Christian Eriksen replacing Eric Dier. Mourinho hoped that Spurs will play more offensively. However, unexpectedly, the god of fortune did not side with them after Son was sent off on the 62nd minute.
VAR is again used to observe Son’s offense. The referee also decided to give the South Korean national team player a red card for violently violating Rudiger.
The conditions were increasingly challenging for Tottenham to catch up and only relied on counterattacks, while being careful when defending. Chelsea were quite satisfied with these advantages.
Entering the last 10 minutes, Lampard played Jorginho, Michy Batshuayi, and Reece James. While Mourinho played Tanguy Ndombele and Danny Rose. Eight minutes were given at the end of the second half.
There were no more goals created at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Chelsea came out 2-0 as the winners over Spurs. Frank Lampard continued to defeat the teacher, Jose Mourinho.
