Chelsea’s Bad Record after Losing to Brentford
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Chelsea really humiliated Brentford at Stamford Bridge. Having had a comeback, they also made a bad record.
Chelsea lost 1-4 to Brentford at Stamford Bridge, Saturday (2/4/2022) in the Premier League continued. First through Antonio Ruediger in the 48th minute, the Blues then scored four goals by Christian Eriksen et al.
Vitaly Janelt equalized in the 50th minute, followed by two more goals within 10 minutes. Eriksen turned things around in the 54th minute and Janelt got his second in the 60th.
Yoane Wissa gave the hosts the final slap with his goal in the 87th minute.
The defeat halted the impressive run of Chelsea, who had won their previous five Premier League games. This result also increases the risk of being overtaken by Arsenal, who are currently five points away but have an extra game in store than Chelsea.
Brentford really dealt a crushing blow to Chelsea. Not only did they win by recording a comeback, but also because it was their first win at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era.
Even if traced further, the BBC said that this was Chelsea’s first defeat since 1939 ago, aka the year when the second world war began!
This victory for Brentford is very important to stay away from the relegation zone, not only in terms of points but also morally. They now collect 33 points from 31 matches, 11 points from Watford in the red area.
“I’m not sure how many promoted clubs have gone into the top three or four and won, definitely not many. So yeah we have to enjoy this moment, appreciate it and move on,” said Brentford manager Thomas Frank.
