Chelsea’s Target Isn’t Cristiano Ronaldo

By db-admin

DBasia.news – In recent weeks Chelsea have been busy talking about Cristiano Ronaldo. But it turns out that the Blues were targeting Rafael Leao, owned by AC Milan.

Chelsea are considered to be one of the few clubs that can sign Ronaldo this summer. CR7 has reportedly submitted a transfer request to Manchester United in order to continue playing in the Champions League.

On the other hand, Chelsea need a new striker after loaning Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan. This is what made the London club linked with Ronaldo.

Todd Boehly as the new owner of Chelsea became a person who was interested in this idea. But he will only pursue Ronaldo if he gets the blessing of the tactician, Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel has not explicitly responded to Ronaldo’s rumors. However, it is believed that it is tough for him to accept the presence of the Portuguese superstar because it can make him change the standard of the game that has been formed.

This rumor is corroborated by the fact that Chelsea are chasing Leao. They don’t seem to see that Milan are having a hard time letting the player go.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are the only club seeking information regarding Leao this summer. However, no official offer has been submitted yet.

Leao is currently under contract with Milan until 2024. His release clause is 150 million euros.

Even so, Chelsea’s opportunity to obtainLeao’s services is still open. The 23-year-old player seems reluctant to add to his contract period at Milan.

Milan management has indeed offered a contract extension to Leao. But the best players in Serie A 2021-2022 seem not satisfied with the numbers offered.

This condition should make Milan’s management start to be wary. Maybe now is the right time to sell Leao at the highest price.
