Chris Kirkland Optimistic Liverpool Will Win the Premier League

DBasia.news –  Liverpool’s impressive performance in the English Premier League made former team goalkeeper Chris Kirkland believe Liverpool could be champions and could bring the Premier League trophy to Anfield.

Liverpool wiped out their opening eight Premier League matches this season, with them comfortably at the top and having an eight-point advantage ahead of Manchester City, the closest competitor.

Jurgen Klopp’s troops were close to winning the title yesterday, but their 97-point collection still lost to City who came out victorious through 98 points. But now Kirkland believes Liverpool have a great chance.

Asked Sky Sports News whether the Premier League trophy was heading towards Anfield, Kirkland replied: “I honestly think so.

“Last year was very unlucky. People call losing one point is disappointing. I prefer to lose one point rather than 15, 16 points behind City.

“I think with the injury problems that City have in the backline, (Aymeric) Laporte is a big loss, Vincent Kompany is a huge loss for them.

“When we play against them, if we can take full points, then you will suddenly talk about double digits. Will you see us losing four or five matches this season? Not if you see the way we play.”
