DBasia.news –  UEFA has threatened to sanction the Belgian representatives in European competition for their violations. As a result Jupiler Pro League have postponed the competition.

Last week, Jupiler Pro League directors had taken the decision to stop the 2019-2020 season. The ongoing corona virus pandemic is the main reason for the decision.

The ratification of the decision should be carried out through a large meeting on April 15. Club Brugge who are leading the standings will be named champions.

But this decision has infuriated UEFA as they instructed their members to finish the 2019-2020 season competition. Agency led by Alexander Ceferin has also threatened to cross out representatives from the league which was stopped from European competition.

UEFA’s assertiveness has made the directors of Jupiler Pro League tremble. They delayed the schedule for the legalization of the league termination decision to end in April.

“The big Jupiler Pro League meeting will take place on Friday, April 24. At the meeting, the council will discuss with all clubs related to the recommendations of the impact of the corona crisis issued March 25,” wrote the official Jupiler Pro League statement.

The Jupiler Pro League 2019-2020 season is actually one match remaining in the regular round. At the moment Club Brugge still leads the standings by a margin of 15 points from the second place occupied by Genk.

Although far superior, Club Brugge does not automatically win. They must undergo a play-off round with five other top teams to ordain themselves as the best in Belgium.
