Comfortable at Chelsea, Kante Rejects PSG’s High Salary Offer

DBasia.news –  Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is ready to recruit Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante, with a high salary in the previous transfer window. However, Kante has refused the offer as he believed in the project with Chelsea.

Kante has long been targeted by PSG. As is known, PSG has had difficulty in getting a defensive midfielder after Thiago Motta.

Lasanna Diarra, Idrissa Gueye and Ander Herrera are three defensive midfielders who were purchased by PSG to replace Motta. However, the three of them failed because of their age.

To overcome the holes in midfield, PSG has several times even tried Marquinhos who has the original position of the defender to play as a defensive midfielder.

PSG then gave Chelsea an offer to release Kante with a fantastic value earlier this season. PSG is ready to pay 100 million pounds.

PSG dared to bid at this price as Kante had just won the 2018 World Cup with the French national team. However, the offer was rejected by Chelsea and Kante.

“Sometimes we don’t necessarily know where we want to go. But we know what we have. “I know I’m at Chelsea and I’m good there,” Kante told Canal Plus.

“If I don’t want to come to PSG, it’s more because of sporting choices. I feel good in London, on this project and I like living here, “Kante added.

At the end of 2018, Kante himself had signed a new five-year contract. For the sake of enclosing Kante, Chelsea gave out a salary of 290 thousand pounds or equivalent to Rp 5.2 billion per week.
