Competition between Barca and Chelsea to sign Jules Kunde

DBasia.news – Barcelona are reportedly competing with Chelsea for Sevilla defender, Jules Kunde. But it seems Barca have a formula to convince Sevilla to let go of their flagship player.

Jules Kunde’s name has been in the transfer market since last summer. Reportedly, the French player wants to try his luck.

Barcelona who was aware of the news did not want to lose the opportunity. Radio Catalunya reports that Barca have made Kounde a priority at centre-back this summer.

Barca are said to have prepared an offer of €60 million plus one player. Players who can be used in Kounde’s transfer are Sergino Dest, Clement Lenglet, or even Francisco Trincao.

Currently, Jules Kunde is still under contract until June 2024. Reportedly, the player is valued at no less than €80 million.

That way, Barca will compete with Chelsea, who have been chasing Kunde since the last transfer window. However, according to the same source, Kunde reportedly prefers to join Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Sevilla president Jose Castro, responded to rumors of the departure of Jules Kunde. It opens the opportunity for the player to leave.

“It is possible that Jules Kunde will leave. However, we don’t know whether he will be sold or not,” said Castro.

“That happened last year and Konde will only be sold if the offer is deemed a plus enough to be accepted by the club.”

Jules Kunde recently underwent surgery for a minor hip injury. The defender is expected to recover in time before the 2022-2023 season begins on August 12.
