DBasia.news – Although life has gradually shifted to being normal, it does not mean that the corona virus has disappeared, the virus is still a pandemic in the world and there is still ‘life’ among humans.
England, which in every stadium has returned to normal with the presence of spectators, is also still harboring concerns. The spread of the corona virus also occurred in Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte has confirmed the spread of Covid-19 in the Tottenham squad and eight players have tested positive after undergoing tests. Tottenham’s preparations against Stade Rennes in the Europa Conference League were disrupted by it.
Moreover, five members of Tottenham’s staff also tested positive for the corona virus. According to UEFA rules, if a club still has at least 13 players available to play then the match can still continue. However Conte is still worried.
According to him, forcing the game to run is like taking a risk. According to Conte, the situation is serious a the corona virus has a strong potential for spread and every player to staff also has a family.
“Eight players and five staff members (positive for coronavirus) but the problem is that every day we have people with Covid, people who were not positive yesterday and today, and we are in constant contact. This is a serious problem,” Conte said as quoted by Goal.
“Everyone is a bit scared. People have families. Why should we take the risk? This is my question. Today, two positive cases, and tomorrow, who would it be? me? I do not know. Better me than a player for sure. But I don’t think it’s right for everyone. We have contact with our families.”
According to quarantine rules related to health protocols, players who are positive for the corona virus must now spend the next 10 days undergoing quarantine. This means that they cannot play when Spurs play against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.
Tottenham has reportedly asked the Premier League to postpone the match. The potential for this delay to occur is also most likely as the Premier League monitors the development of the spread of the corona virus everyday and can postpone matches if it has to be done.
