Conte doesn’t want to force Tottenham players to get vaccinated

DBasia.news – The Premier League players’ vaccination program was highlighted after the number of positive cases of the corona virus (Covid-19) in the past week. This condition provoked the reaction of Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte.
Tottenham is one of the teams affected by the latest Covid-19 storm. Eight main players and five staff of The Lilywhites were tested positive for the virus ahead of the match against Rennes in the Conference League, December 8.
After that, Tottenham’s two Premier League matches were also postponed. Harry Kane and his team will return to compete at home to Liverpool, Sunday (19/12).
The number of positive cases of the corona virus in the Tottenham squad is suspected because there are still many players who have not received the vaccine. But Conte will not force his team to do that.
“To be honest, this (vaccination) is a personal matter. My family and I, namely my daughter and wife, have been vaccinated,” Conte said at a press conference ahead of the Liverpool match.
I think every player or member of staff at Tottenham and other clubs have to make decisions for themselves. I can’t force anyone to take personal decisions, because I don’t think this is right.”
“I want other people to do the same but everyone has to take the best decision for himself. Now it’s very important to have this kind of solution to the problem,” he added.
Conte’s attitude is somewhat surprising. A number of other managers such as Jurgen Klopp have long ago asked his care team to undergo vaccination.
On the same occasion, Conte admitted that the players who had been positive with corona virus had returned to training. But he could not confirm if they would be played against Liverpool.
When the players have returned from Covid, of course you have to pay great attention. You can’t give them the same tasks as other players,” Conte said.
“In this situation you have to take risks and at the same time pay great attention. They need time to get fit.”
