Coronavirus Made Three Argentine Players Slept at Frankfurt Airport

DBasia.news – The Corona Virus Pandemic has had a huge impact on many people. Three Argentine players working in Saudi Arabia even experienced a story full of emotion. Previously they wanted to go home, but Leonardo Gil and his friends ended being held at Frankfurt airport, Germany.

Leonardo Gil with Sergio Vittor and Cristian Guanca were frustrated because they had to held up in Saudi Arabia. On Thursday (4/16/2020), they finally got a ticket to return home via Germany. The plan was to go to Brazil, and then fly by chartered plane to Argentina.

Problems came up when they arrived at Frankfurt Airport. They have not yet gotten permission to fly from Brazil to Argentina. No doubt, they were stuck there.

“We’ve been in Germany since Friday. We live in an uncertain situation. However, we were optimistic and have the strength to be able to return to our country,” explained Leonardo Gil to TNT Sports, as quoted by Infobae.

The 28-year-old Al Ittihad defender added: “We needed permission to fly by private plane from Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, we have to stay in Germany from Friday. We arrived by hoping to return to Argentina. However, five minutes before boarding, they said that the permission had not yet come out.”

Suffering does not end there. The three Argentine players had difficulty getting a place to stay. Hotels inside the airport are full, only two rooms left. The problem is, there are not just three of them. Guanca brought her 56-year-old mother and two daughters.

“We only got two rooms that we gave to two children and Ms. Guanca. They are the most risky. Only last night we slept at the hotel. Today, we have to sleep at the airport. Really lonely. There is no one here,” explained Leonardo Gil again.

Leonardo Gil remains confident they can return to Argentina. Because, there are people who try hard to take care of flying permits from Brazil that they need.
