DBasia.news – Jose Morais, Jose Mourinho’s assistant at Real Madrid, defended Cristiano Ronaldo following his controversial comments made in an interview with Piers Morgan.

Morais has also attacked Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and believes the he may be out of his league in this situation.

In an interview with A Bola, Morais said: “Having a player like him makes a coach such a blessing. Cristiano is, without a doubt, a man of feeling and humble. I don’t call him an alien because he is a human being.”

Morais continued: “I’m just saying that you have to be a special coach to train special players. Being a specialty coach means knowing how to deal with situations as they occur. [Build] positive communication. The formation of trust depends on factors related to individual personal development. The best coaches are better able to deal with these situations.”

Morais coached Ronaldo for three seasons between 2010 and 2013 while still at Madrid. The Portuguese star was outstanding during that period, scoring 168 goals for Los Blancos.

Ronaldo wants to help Portugal do better at the 2022 World Cup after falling in the last 16 of the 2018 edition. Their first game in Qatar is against Ghana on November 24.
