DBasia.news – Leaving Real Madrid for Juventus was one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s big decisions. Although already comfortable with Los Blancos, Ronaldo tried new challenges in Italy.

Chaos occurred before Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid. CR7 is in conflict with El Real president, Florentino Perez. Ronaldo was upset as Perez did not keep his promise regarding salary increase and contract duration.

Cristiano Ronaldo said he chose Juventus because he wanted to experience a new challenge. Ronaldo proved right as since playing at Juve, the player had difficulty winning individual awards.

The only individual award that Ronaldo has won since moving to Juventus was the best Serie A player last season. The 35-year-old player failed to win several awards despite being nominated.

One of the awards with the highest prestige is the Ballon d’Or. So far, Ronaldo has collected five titles.

In the past two years, Ronaldo failed to win the award. He lost to Luka Modric (2018) and Lionel Messi (2019). The victory in 2019 has made Messi one title more than Ronaldo.

The next award is the European gold boot. While still defending El Real, Ronaldo won it in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons.

So far, Ronaldo has only finished fifth in the top scorer in Europe (21). Robert Lewandowski is in the top position after collecting 29 goals.

The declining performance of Ronaldo also occurred in the Champions League. Despite leading the list of all-time Champions League goalscorers, Ronaldo was unable to win when the duration was reduced to one season.

Last season, Ronaldo was only able to gain six goals. Lionel Messi became the winner after creating 12 goals.

Not stopping there, the stagnation of Ronaldo’s individual achievements also occurred at the UEFA Player of the Year award and league top scorer.

Ronaldo had a slick record at the UEFA best player award. The superstar won it in 2014, 2016, and 2017. However, since defending Juventus, Ronaldo has not been able to defeat Luka Modric and Virgil van Dijk who won awards in quick succession.

Ronaldo was also unable to become the sharpest striker in Serie A. In his debut season, the former Manchester United player lost to Italian experience striker, Fabio Quagliarella.

Meanwhile, this season, Ronaldo, who packed 21 goals adrift of six goals from the leader Ciro Immobile.

One of the other awards which escaped Ronaldo’s grasp was FIFA’s best player. CR7 lost from Modric (2018) and Messi (2019).

Now, Cristiano Ronaldo still has time if he can win an individual title even though he is no longer playing for Real Madrid. However, from the two years that have passed, the Portuguese striker proved to having difficulty to release his dependence on Los Blancos.
