Cristiano Ronaldo’s bad record

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo will return to becoming Portugal’s attack foundation while challenging Germany in the second match of Group F European Championship in 2020. But CR7 turned out to have haf a bad record when he met Der Panzer.

The match between the two top teams will take place at the Allianz Arena, Saturday (19/6) at 23.00 WIB. Portugal needs a win to ensure themselves to qualify for the 16th round.

Portugal started their work in Euro 2020 by defeating Hungary 3-0. Two of Fernando Santos’ three goals were scored by Ronaldo.

This has made Ronaldo officially become the all-time top scorer of the European Cup with a collection of 11 goals. Prior to the tournament, he held the record with Michel Platini.

But Ronaldo will not be satisfied just like that. He has one other record that must be broken, namely Ali Daei’s all-time top scorer at international level.

Ronaldo has now scored 106 goals for Portugal. He needed an additional four goals to break Ali Daei’s record.

The match against Germany became Ronaldo’s golden opportunity to cut the distance with the Iranian legend. Moreover, Joachim Low’s team has not been in their best condition in recent years.

Low himself admits Ronaldo has a high goal sense. But he did not plan to provide a special escort to the Juventus player.

“Portugal not only has Cristiano Ronaldo in attack, but four or five other players with extraordinary abilities. They are capable of deciding big games like this,” Low told UEFA’s official website.

Ronaldo’s record

It is not an easy matter for Ronaldo to break into Germany’s goal. The 36 year old player has never even done so.

Ronaldo has already met Germany four times in major tournaments. But not once was he able to record his name on the scoreboard.

Ronaldo’s first meeting with Germany was presented in the match for the third place in the 2006 World Cup. At that time Portugal was defeated by a score of 1-3.

Nuno Gomes scored the only goal in reply for Portugal. Even though Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes.

Ronaldo then tried to improve his luck when he met in the quarter-finals of the 2008 European Cup. But again he failed to score when Germany won 3-2 over Portugal.

Four years later, Germany and Portugal joined in the same group at Euro 2012. Ronaldo is in a golden age to end his bad record.

However, Ronaldo and Portugal again won minor results. Germany was able to close the game with a narrow 1-0 victory through a single goal by Mario Gomez.

Meanwhile, at the last meeting of the two teams, Ronaldo and Portugal were unmoved. Germany won 4-0 in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup which was marked by a Thomas Muller hat-trick.
