Danilo realizes Juventus is not the favorite team in the Champions League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Juventus defender Danilo admits his team are not favorites in the Champions League. However, the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri behind the wheel gave Danilo confidence.
Danilo discusses the opportunity for Juventus to realize the dream of winning the Champions League. For this edition, La Vecchia Signora will again be led by Massimiliano Allegri.
This is Danilo’s first season under Allegri. Previously, the tactician left just months before Danilo’s arrival to Turin.
“Allegri made history at this club. He has a winning DNA,” said Danilo as revealed by Football Italia.
“We are not among the favorites to win the Champions League. However, I believe in hard work.
Apart from that, we are motivated to face the season in a competitive way.”
“An important step is to renew the contract of Giorgio Chiellini. He embodies the spirit of Juventus,” continued the defender.
Danilo feels that the two English giants, Manchester City and Liverpool, are strong contenders for the title. However, the defender did not necessarily give up on the matter.
“On paper, they (Liverpool and Manchester City) are one step ahead of us. However, I have only been at Juventus for two years and am identifying myself in the club’s values. I’m glad to be here.”
The last time Juventus won the Champions League was in 1996. Since then, the Bianconeri have lost five finals. Most recently was when Juve were silenced by Real Madrid in 2017.
