DBasia.news – An incident colored ahead of West Ham United’s match against Hull City in the third round of the 2020-2021 League Cup at London Stadium, Wednesday (23/9). The Hammers manager, David Moyes, had to be sent home with two other players because he was positive for the corona virus.

That moment happened just moments before the match started. The two teams were even at the stadium.

Two West Ham players who tested positive for the corona virus are Issa Diop and Josh Cullen. The second position was later replaced by Harrison Ashby and Jack Wilshere.

“West Ham United can confirm that David Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen’s coronavirus test results are positive. The club medical team was notified of the test results while the team was at London Stadium preparing for the League Cup third round match against Hull City,” read West Ham’s official statement.

The manager and the two players immediately left the stadium and returned home. All three are asymptomatic and will now follow UK and Premier League Public Health protocol guidelines.

This case fortunately did not interfere with the game. Hull City are still willing to appear even though they have the opportunity to turn it down at the risk of contracting too.

Even though a similar case made the Leyton Orient match against Tottenham Hotspur in the same arena to be postponed. The League Two contestant club squad was hit by the corona virus outbreak ahead of the match.

Without Moyes and his two players, West Ham looks still too tough for Hull City. The host closed the match with a 5-1 win.
