DBasia.news – Manchester United continued to show their tajinya after defeating Aston Villa in the Premier League match. The duel that was held at Old Trafford, Saturday (2/1/2021), the Red Devils won with a score of 2-1.

The victory made Manchester United unbeaten in the last 10 matches, eight of which resulted in victories.

Manchester United immediately took the initiative to attack from the start of the match. Bruno Fernandes immediately got a golden opportunity in the second minute even though Emiliano Martinez was still able to secure him from Aston Villa.

In the eleventh minute, it was Anthony Martial’s turn to have a golden opportunity. But again Martinez made a spectacular save.

One minute later, it was Villa’s turn to score a goal. John McGinn who came from behind took a shot from close range despite being saved by David De Gea.

The action of buying and selling attacks between the two teams was then presented on the field. But it was Manchester United who finally managed to steal a goal in the 40th minute.

Martial beat Martinez with a header from Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross. Score 1-0 for the host’s advantage lasted until the break.

The second half went even more interesting. Manchester United continued to pound Villa’s defense, but the opponent was also very dangerous on the counterattack.

Villa was even able to equalize in the 58th minute. Jack Grealish’s mature bait was able to be greeted by Bertrand Traore with a hard kick that pierced De Gea’s goal.

Manchester United were lucky to take the lead three minutes later. Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot after Paul Pogba was brought down in the forbidden box.

Pogba had a ripe opportunity to distance Manchester United’s lead in the 74th minute. Unfortunately his hard shot was narrowly wide from the Villa goal.

No less slick action was shown by Fernandes three minutes later. This time, his hard kick hit the bar after being pushed over by Martinez.

Manchester United were finally able to maintain their advantage until the game was over. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team is increasingly asserting itself as Liverpool’s main challenger in the title race.

In other matches, Everton surprisingly had to be defeated 0-1 at home to West Ham United. Carlo Ancelotti’s team also failed to shift Leicester City’s position from the top three.
