Defeating Manchester United, Liverpool Becomes the British Citizen’s Idol Club
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The top leader of the Premiere League standings, Liverpool has been named as the club most idolized by British citizens for being able to defeat Manchester United.
Reporting from the Sport Mirror, YouGov polls have shown that the Reds earned support of 8.3 percent of the population as the most favored football team in England.
The poll calculated the possibility of top clubs on 16 different metrics and draw information from the general public, not just from people who claim to be fans of certain teams.
In this research, Liverpool managed to rank first, outperforming Manchester United who were only in second place on the list by making a six percent vote.
Manchester City, Newcastle and Wolves are also among the preferred clubs even though they do not have the largest fan base. Chelsea, with the third highest fan base, ranks only sixth as the most preferred team.
The aspect of being an idol club for most Britons is calculated from a number of factors, such as club management, players, fan culture, tradition, and style of play.
In this study, many people hope that Liverpool can lift the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years.
The Merseyside-based team has indeed excelled in the Premiere League standings. With the acquisition of 82 points now, they have 25 points ahead of rivals Manchester City, who are in second place.
It is undeniable, Liverpool has been transformed into one of the strongest teams in the Premiere League since the club was coached by German manager, Jurgen Klopp in 2015.
Last season they won the Champions League trophy, and in this season they have almost ended the fasting for the Premier League title that lasted for years.
Liverpool has a great chance of winning the Premiere League trophy this season when the competition resumes on June 17.
On the Premiere League schedule, on that day, the Reds expects Manchester City to defeat Arsenal. Thus, Liverpool only needs one more victory in the face of Everton a few days later precisely on June 20, to ensure the Premiere League title.
More than that, thanks to Klopp who is a former Borussia Dortmund coach, Liverpool has many powerful players. There is Sadio Mane who was purchased for 30 million pounds (Rp.597 billion) from Southampton, and is now one of the most expensive players.
Virgil van Dijk, the defender with the most expensive price of £ 75 million (Rp1.4 trillion), if there is a form, there’s a price as there is no doubt regarding his quality. Having been sluggish when defending Chelsea, Mohamed Salah actually now become one of Liverpool’s best players.
