DBasia.news – 1995-1996 was the last time Juventus win the Champions League. Since then, Bianconeri got many problems like Calciopoli scandal, identity crisis in Serie A after climbing from Serie B, and finally reviving and won the Serie A for 7 past seasons.

Juventus also reached the final round twice during recent four years. They are still in curiosity to end the waiting for Champions League title. In these two chances, Juventus got defeated by two Spanish teams: Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The board of directors conducted a big effort to end the waiting. The winner of 5 Ballon d’Or and 5 Champions League titles, Cristiano Ronaldo, was recruited from Madrid worth 100 million and an additional 12 million euro. Ronaldo was bought after presenting the third Champions League title for Madrid by his 15 goals in 13 match last season.

The presence of the 33-year-old megastar believed will add Juve’s possibility to win the Champions League. Juventus legend who once supported the last squad to win the Champions League, Alessandro Del Piero, praised Ronaldo as the real champion that could influence the team with his mentality.

“Even if the coach’s merit in winning titles is greater than the players, I don’t think there is any coach more important than CR7 and I say that even though I think Zizou (Zidane) did an extraordinary job — above all expectations,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He’s an extraordinary champion and has the mentality that only the greatest sportspeople have, and he will know how to make it contagious,” the Italian man continued.

Last, Del Piero mentioned his candidate to win the Champions League in three categories: first, second, and third favorite.

“Real Madrid are on the first row, obviously since they’ve won three in a row, even if they’ve lost Ronaldo. On the second row, there are Juve, (Manchester) City and PSG, then on the third row there’s Barcelona, Bayern (Munich) and Liverpool,” Del Piero concluded.
