Denmark Still Has a Chance to Qualify for the Round of 16 of the 2020 European Cup

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Although Belgium has confirmed a ticket to the round of 16, the third match of Group B, which will be held on Tuesday (22 /) early morning WIB, will still be fierce. There is still one ticket and the top position is still to be determined.

Belgium is still entrenched at the top of Group B standings with six points from two wins. Russia is in second place with three points, followed by Finland (3), and Denmark is still without points.

With two wins bagged, Belgium has guaranteed a place in the round of 16. However, the Red Devils have not confirmed their position at the top of the group. Because Finland has a chance to be at the top of the standings if it is able to win with a landslide score over Belgium.

Then what about the chances of the two teams in another match, Russia and Denmark? Both teams still have chances. Of the two, of course Russia’s chance to qualify is greater.

While Denmark, despite having lost two defeats, can still qualify as long as they can beat Russia and hope Finland will be defeated by Belgium. With this scenario, Denmark will qualify as group runner-up.

Group B Probability Count

Belgium

Belgium only needed a draw in their last match against Finland to become the leaders of Group B.

Romelu Lukaku and his friends can lose their group title status if they lose and Russia fails to beat Denmark. Or Russia won and Belgium lost by three or four goals.

Belgium could even drop to third place. This will happen if Belgium lose at least six goals to Finland and Russia win over Denmark.

Russia

Russia will guarantee a ticket to the last 16 with a win over Denmark. Russia will also qualify as runners-up in Group B with only a draw with Denmark, provided Finland draws against Belgium.

The second position in the group is the highest for Russia, because they lost head to head to Belgium.

Finland

Finland can qualify as group winners if they win 3-0 over Belgium, regardless of Russia’s result against Denmark.

If they lose and Russia wins or draws, Finland will have to wait to see if three points are enough to become the third best team.

Denmark

Despite being at the bottom of the standings, Denmark can still qualify. The condition is that Denmark must beat Russia and hope Finland loses to Belgium. With a result like that Denmark can be runner up group.

They could also finish in third place if they beat Russia, and elsewhere Finland win or draw against Belgium.
