DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was satisfied to see the performance of his players in the match against Manchester City. According to Solskjaer, it was the Red Devils’ best performance against Man City.

Manchester United played 0-0 when they hosted Manchester City in the 2020-2021 Premier League match, at Old Trafford Stadium, Sunday (13/12) am. The match was not interesting.

The two teams each created only two opportunities on target. Meanwhile, The Citizens was superior on ball possession with 54%.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remained satisfied. The Norwegian manager highlighted the appearance of Man United’s defense which was considered difficult to penetrate.

“In my trip against Manchester City, this is the best performance we have had. It’s not a good result, but a good performance. I know we beat them a few times last season. However, this is a different game,” Solskjaer said as reported by BBC.

“It was a tight match. Both teams played well. Tactically, they knew they would give us some problems. However, defensively we were great. I am happy with the defensive performances.”

In fact, a draw has not been a cure for the midweek defeat against RB Leipzig. In the next match, David de Gea and his colleagues will visit Sheffield United, Friday (18/12).

“When we were in possession of the ball, we created a lot of chances that were wanted. They might have a bigger moment in open play. However, everyone has to be happy with the draw,” explained the manager.

With that draw, Manchester United finished eighth in the standings with 20 points from 11 matches. Meanwhile, Man City is one place and one point behind the Red Devils.
