Despite the success of signing Sancho and Varane, Man United is still considered not strong enough

DBasia.news – Former Liverpool player, Graeme Souness, believes that Manchester United cannot compete for the title if they only bring in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. The Red Devils need a new striker who can gain a lot of goals.

Manchester United made a massive move in the transfer market by bringing in Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane. The two players joined Red Devils stars such as Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.

However, the movement of Man United was considered not enough. Sancho and Varane were not good enough to bring Manchester United to compete for the title.

“If Manchester United have finished business in the transfer market by signing Jadon Sancho for 73 million pounds from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane for 34 million pounds from Real Madrid, that is not a sufficient investment to win the title,” Graeme Souness explained in The Sunday Times.

“A club of their caliber should be aiming for the Premier League title and the Champions League,” he added.

“The transfers that come in have to allow them to fight for the title against Manchester City and Chelsea. They need to have a striker who guarantees 30 goals per season.”

“There are some of those players around. However, Man United have to pay a lot because they are at a Premier League club.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United won positive results ahead of the Premier League rolling. Against Everton at Old Trafford, the Red Devils won with a score of four goals without reply.

Four of Manchester United’s goals were scored by different players, namely Mason Greenwood, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.
