Detained by Real Betis, Zinedine Zidane Does Not Want to Give Up

DBasia.news – Real Madrid’s chances of winning the 2020-2021 LaLiga title ran out after being held to a draw with Real Betis. Even so, Los Blancos still don’t want to give up.
In the match that took place at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Sunday (25/4), Madrid and Betis were only able to draw 0-0. Even though Karim Benzema and his friends had more control over the course of the match.
The dullness of the front lines is the main reason for Madrid’s failure to win. Of the 12 attempted shots, none of them were able to be converted into goals.
Madrid’s best chance was created accidentally when Rodrygo’s cross in the 55th minute went straight towards Betis’ goal. However, the ball only hit the crossbar so that it failed to change the scoreboard.
One additional point made Madrid fail to match Atletico’s points at the top of the standings. On the other hand, they are now in danger of being left behind by five points if their city rivals are able to beat Athletic Bilbao on Monday (26/4).
If that happened, it would be even more difficult for Madrid to defend the title it won last season. Moreover, there are only five matches left for the competition.
However, this condition did not make the coach, Zinedine Zidane, pessimistic. He emphasized his ambition to continue fighting until the last match.
“It is true that two points were lost today but I don’t think our chances are closed. We must continue and try even though we have lost our spur in attack,” Zidane said after the match.
“But I don’t think the league champions have been decided”.
Praise Hazard
Despite failing to win, there is a positive position for Madrid. Eden Hazard looks quite fit after playing as a substitute.
This is good news ahead of carrying out the first leg of the Champions League semifinals in the middle of next week. Madrid will host Chelsea.
“Hazard has been out for almost three months, but I see he is well and can contribute. I think he played 15-20 minutes with passion and energy,” he added.
“Most importantly, there are no problems that bother him. He will contribute and we will need him.”
